We are working hard on playing the piano this month. And I'm pleased to say I was asked to accompany a small group singing a number for one of our parties at church. Marvelous.
So that's nice.
(There are tons of people enlisted to participate as singers and pianists at said party this year. I'm singing a spanish song in another group, even, there.)
The super awesome news is as follows:
I arranged my own piece of music (well I really just rolled all the chords the way I think sounds nice). A friend of mine gave me an idea for what to play as an interlude verse for this song. So it's all fancy. I spent lots of hours on this. And I want to show off.
BTW - this project would probably have been a lot quicker if I had a proper music editor on my computer that I knew how to use. I'll definitely look into that.
As it is, though, this is all generated in Paint-Shop-Pro. I copied and pasted each note where I wanted it - deleting whatever was there previously, as needed. Time consuming =)
Here is the before and after.
Before:
After:
And finally - though I don't expect that any of my normal readers will wish to use this arrangement - I give permission for anybody to use this who would like to. I'm not interested in any official credit. So there ya go. Guess I should add "Coventry Carol" to the text here so that people may find this post someday by googling that title.

I'm so lost; but I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteI can't play it - but good for you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you ;) I had to learn it in a couple days - but with a little help we managed to do okay. And I'm so happy it's all over now. Now I can work on playing Moon River. And as soon as my gut stops cramping whenever I think of the piano, I'll head over there and work on that. hehehe ^^
ReplyDelete♥
Hey wow! Moon River - that is something I always play (badly) on my piano! And, like you with the Coventry Carol, I made up the chord sequence myself. I try to make it as easy as poss (!)
ReplyDeleteSW, that's awesome ;D I think that's my new talent as a pianist is 're'writing songs so that I can actually play them at all! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's fun that you like that song (Moon River). love it love it love it, myself. It's almost depressing - but it's sweet.
☺
Well another talent of your emerges HO. Good for you for stretching yourself and taking the time to write your version of the song.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with Moon River....if you read my latest post about "Choices Not Goals" I feel you will enjoy the journey much more if you work on it when you choose to not when you think you should.
I used to play the piano when I was a youngin but unfortunately I didn't continue into adulthood.
Have a wonderful Christmas my friend and keep shining!
Big hugs

WHERE DID YOU GO? did the latent bacteria and viruses that fester on licked envelopes get the better of you and your family...
ReplyDeleteHey - if *you don't have to blog, I don't have to blog ;D
ReplyDeleteI got your card yesterday. It's gorgeous. a close second to whichever person's in first place. heheheh
=PPP
And I mailed one to you - I expect it to show up the day before Christmas.
Someday maybe I'll mail you a picture of all the food I've been cooking. You know how busy I've been lately?
Anyway.. and I'd mail you some of this pecan cherry ganache, but it'd melt crossing the equator. I'd mail it to people in this hemisphere, but I'm really too greedy. After all that baking for other people I wanted to treat myself.
And I'm short on sleep. I'm glad you asked. I don't know why. I don't THINK I'm working that hard, but my body seems to think differently.
Hey - pretend this is a blog post ^^
