Supposed to get a couple inches of snow this weekend. I guess I won't say that I want a really big storm. I certainly wouldn't want to drive in a big storm. But there is something about having to stay in and bunker down that is so comforting for folks like myself.. Still, I'm lucky. I mean - I have a house. I can't really pray to have a snow storm if I remember that some people don't have warm places to sleep. What an awful thought. Wow, we are blessed.
Anyway, enough about people who have less.
I am here to whine about my immune system. ;)
No - not really.
But it seems to be shot lately. We've just gotten over croup (each kid had it, and the whole thing lasted about two weeks). We should have been quarantined at home, but I'm a bad girl and went to the store roughly every other day with whichever child was ill. We did make sure not to kiss anyone, though. I think that did help cut down on the spread of germs.
Really, I feel bad about going out - but I just can't stay cooped up all day. I started getting depressed at the end of this week b/c I've missed seeing my friends, for one thing.
Happily, though, aside from this new virus we've recently caught (yesterday) I have not felt very ill except for an occasional day of pure fatigue. Now, however, I've taken tylenol to pretend I'm not in pain from this upper-respiratory little bug we've acquired.
Hopefully we'll be done with viruses for the winter after this round (though I don't think we've had the flu yet. So maybe one left to go, eh?)
I feel Horribly jinxed now. ;DDD
We're sewing. I hemmed blue jeans (the most successful attempt in my life to date). They turned out well.
Almost done with a twin size quilt for a friend. Next I've a quilt for one of our kids (the last of three), and then we're all set for Christmas. We plan on skipping (cough) toys this year ;D
Really, my mother-in-law called and said she was considering skipping Christmas this year (shopping for her adult children). I says "I consider that Every year ;)"
really.
Let's cook for Christmas instead of gifts.
Anyway, that's all for now.
Carry on :)

SleepyOrganist...that's cute.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you guys stop with the sickness thing.
I think your two paragraphs contradict each other. You want it to snow so you can stay in. But you don't want to stay in when you're sick.
It makes sense though. Staying home is much more fun when everyone is healthy and energetic.
That is funny I said opposite things there, huh..
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to stay in b/c of snow. It's not okay to stay in b/c of being contagious. Although if I'm unable to get out of bed - then it's alright to stay home sick. But if I'm up and about but not supposed to leave the house ('specially if it's for a whole week straight) forget it ;)
you sound like my friend who has been constantly sick and now has the catch22 of shot immune system and stuck between the contradictory modes of western and eastern therapeutics...
ReplyDeleteall these...problems of the modern age...:P
