Surviving

So we have frogs-- I mean kids home this week.  Six year old has croup (fun!).  Poor guy.  He's been home since Monday.  The rest of us are fine and we're making sure not to kiss the six year old...  Can't have germs being spread around..  :D

Meanwhile I am feeling VERY domestic.  I've done so much cooking, quilting, medicining and so forth.  Feeling quite cozy here at home.

I'm still not looking forward to Christmas.  I think..   oh I don't know.  I can't decide if it's selfishness or laziness or being overwhelmed (and therefore fatigue) that has me not wanting to do anything for this holiday.  Halloween we got into.  Thanksgiving is kind of 'bleh' (it's nice but nothing to get excited about).  That doesn't mean we don't like the meaning of the holiday or anything like that - just sort of in a "meh, I'd rather quilt" mood.  That and/or curl up with my favorite cutie.  I suppose that's okay.
Maybe next year I'll be less of a grinch.

Gotta say, being grinchy can be pretty fun.

Hope everyone is well and surviving.

Besos a todos!  ☺♥!   (well, domestic and outgoing.  haha)

  1. Maybe you can have a happy Grinchy Christmas.

Lazy Christmases are probably better than the exhausting stress-filled Christmases.

Sorry about the croup stuff : (

  2. definitely beats stress-filled Christmases ;)

I keep saying "that's not what Christmas is about!" (all the stress stuff)...

Hey - I just saw your Lake House video, and I like it :) Saw all that swimming and thought "wow - must still be warm in Texas.." Then I realized it might be older footage than that. heheh Now - are you behind the camera the entire time? It's hard to tell for sure - but that's what I figured.
Looks like a nice summer. ^^

  3. Thanks for watching the lake house video!!!

Yeah, most of it was filmed this summer. I took a lot of the film. Then Tim, Jack, and my nieces did some of the other filming.

I agree about Christmas. It shouldn't be too stressful. Yet then you have to worry about not stressing.

What's most stressful to you about it? Decorating? Buying gifts? Making gifts? Christmas cards?

I'm thinking you like most of that stuff...and you like socializing. But I imagine it's stressful and less fun when you have to much to do at once.

not to be grinchy, but.. ^^

  5. and being told WHEN to buy or to give people gifts.
We totally don't buy into that "buy a flower for valentine's day or your darling won't think you love him/her". bleh. Total crap. Hate that industry. I don't need an industry telling me when to be nice. I believe in having fun (or telling people I'm thinking of them) all through the year (like when I'm thinking about them). just saying...
    =)
And I really think Christmas should be more like Thanksgiving - a day where you get together with family or people you love (I know sometimes it's an OR. hahahah.. anyway...) and just enjoy being together and eating. The eating is important. And I think Mexican food might be a good choice for this holiday. ♥

Really don't like being told when to give things to people or being told to give things to people at all (like I wouldn't do that on my own. Hello!!). And feeling obliged to EVERYONE and their DOG. I call that stress and not what the season is about at all.
Cards are fun, though, sometimes. We could do cards and family and eating and call it good.

  6. I totally agree...gifts are much less fun when they're an obligation.

It's especially bad when you're obligated to give so many gifts at once.

I also agree that holidays are better when it's about eating and togetherness.

Good idea about the Mexican food.

  7. I'm glad we agree about the Mexican food ;D

We haven't given Jack any shots yet (re: antibiotic thread). We're still finishing his oral antibiotic and have to see if his ear infection comes back. (?)
