New furniture

I really need all of you to come help me paint.  THANK you so much  :D  I appreciate it - really I do.  ^^

Sorry I haven't kept you posted on everything else.
We have a busy busy week this week, so we are not actually painting at all 'till next week..  Dentist appointments, parent-teacher (cough) conferences (I never like these - even though they often turn out to be harmless), birthday parties (for family members and myself =)  ), volleyball tournament, service auction..  And I'm sure I'm forgetting things.  Ah, yes, I knew I was.  I am working a lot on a piece of music for the school choir.  This has involved consulting my gifted pianist friend (the one who played in a band for a few years and is essentially a professional musician even though she can't read the left hand on piano music).  She is very very talented, though, and she can play ragtime, rock and roll and everything.
So she's trying to teach me about syncopated rhythms (how to play them).  THIS is something I have a very difficult time with in reading music.

Anyway..   So I was given this music to play - accompaniment for one song.. I looked online to see if I could find a recording of someone else playing it (cheating to find out how it's "supposed" to sound).  I found what I wanted.  Except the pianist in said recording ad-libs the left hand through the piece.  It's marvelous.  Absolutely divine - and I wimpered as I studied and listened to it over and over and over again.
So that's what I've been working on... aside from purchasing new couches.
So far, we have, in my opinion, improved the accompaniment that I am to play.   I just hope my attention span will allow me to complete this project and practice well enough that I can play in front of the audience at the concert!   It SHOULDN'T be a problem since I'll be playing basically for the same people as in my church congregation.  The things is - it's a different setting....   But I believe if I focus on the kids and hope that the performance goes well - that THEY do well - that I will be able to practice well and support them when they perform.
♥   Too tired to finish this post.

Cody votes for not covering our couches in plastic.  What do you think ?    heheh

I'm all for it, seriously.  I don't think it would be embarrassing.     hehehehe

  2. hehe. That's what Cody wants to use - some fabric cover. But those are such a pain. A friend of mine has one and she is constantly rearranging it, retucking it in and so forth.
This is microfiber - supposed to be impenetrable. But we have another one right downstairs and it's all marked up with ball-point pen and spills of we-don't-remember-what. ;) Still, at least the new couches are gray - as opposed to cream turning into gray by the time we get rid of them. ^^

  3. I'm not sure what I'd do with the couch.

With three kids, it probably won't be staying like that for long. But maybe with all the food stains, vomit stains, pen marks, etc....it will get an interesting design in a few years.

I'm impressed with all your music practicing. I think you'll end up doing great at the concert.
