What a fun story :)

I am finally reading "I Remember Nothing[...] and Other Reflections" by Nora Ephron, and I'm as enamored of her as she was of the gal that she writes of in chapter "Pentimento."   That is my favorite chapter, btw.  Quite a delight to read.  Man, she was smitten.  I'll just write the closing paragraph here.

"The details are just details.  And the story is always the same: the younger woman idolizes the older woman; she stalks her; the older woman takes her up; the younger woman finds out the older woman is only human; the story ends.
If the younger woman is a writer, she eventually writes something about the older woman.
And then years pass.
And she herself gets older.
And there are moments when she would like to apologize--at least for the way it ended."

Ah, I wish I could just copy the whole chapter here.
Anyhow, it resonated.

And two hours later, I'm done with the book.  ;)
I recommend it.  I think I may look up her other book(s ? ).  At any rate, I love comedians.  Feel a kinship really.  Actually, I adored so many of her sentiments it really makes me feel for her "aw, what a sweet and human gal.  That's nice."
Add her to the list of people I get to meet when I cross over, some day.  Not today.
And may I enjoy everything she jokes about re: aging when the time comes (it's starting right now..)
Yes, my memory is going.

Anyway.  Love her thoughts on teflon, too.

Back to the grind (more quilting.  I'm not actually WORKING today) (feel a little guilty about this... )

  1. Wow. That bit of the chapter sounds like something you could have written.

It sounds like a good book. I can't remember if I've ever read anything by her. Isn't she the one who wrote When Harry Met Sally?
